One day, I posed the same question on a friend's daughter, Shaunie who's the same age as Nick. That particular evening, I caught her staring blankly into the air just as Nick did so frequently. She's always been a straight A-student and she surprised me with the same answer, "NOTHING". I guess I must've been kinda bias towards Nick as I was expecting some tangible answer from her.
Shame on me huh? Why would the answer be any different between a A-student and an average one? After all, they are teenagers all the same.
Diverted abit. Now, my point is what lurks inside their mind during those instances? Are they in a self-induced trance OR some witch-doctor has cast an evil spell on them OR have they turned into robots under the control of some mad-scientist? "In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, dou, dou, dou, dou, dou..."
I've been a teenager before and so does Cheryl (Shaunie's mum) but yet, we're still perplexed by it! During our time, there were higher expectations on us and we were given more responsibilities. Yet, I don't remember ever being so lost in transition. The general consensus ... teenagers today are just so different from our time.
Guess I'll just have to wait till Nick's ready to talk. Maybe Shaunie will outdo him and I'll find out from Cheryl! I'm not going to let my 'curiosity kill the cat!'

As they grow older, you feel further right.... dekat tapi jauh.
